Open & Affirming
Church Directory

About this site

A directory built for everyone who belongs

The Open & Affirming Church Directory is a free resource that helps LGBTQ+ people and their allies find welcoming congregations — places that don't just tolerate difference, but celebrate it.

What "open & affirming" means

An open and affirming congregation is one that has made an explicit, public commitment to welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. This isn't a vague gesture of goodwill — it typically means a formal vote, a statement on their website, membership in a recognized affirming network, or all three. We look for that evidence before adding a church to the directory.

Location & directions
Every listing shows the church on an interactive map with a direct link to Google Maps navigation.
Hours & contact
Service times, office hours, phone numbers, and website links — so you can reach out before you visit.
Verified affirming
Each listing is checked against public statements, denominational networks, and community submissions before it goes live.
Community-driven
Anyone can submit a church. The directory grows because people in these communities share what they know.

Coverage

We're starting in Delaware and expanding state by state. If your state isn't listed yet, please submit churches you know — community submissions are the fastest way to grow coverage in a new area.

Data sources

Listings are compiled from Google Maps, church websites, denominational affirming directories (such as the UCC Open & Affirming Coalition, Reconciling Ministries Network, and More Light Presbyterians), and direct community submissions. We do our best to keep information accurate, but details change — if you spot something out of date, please let us know.
